Women.

The definition of beauty is constantly changing, with the help of the media and its body and beauty standards. Fat shaming, white washing and able-ism incorporated within the beauty ideal, it is becoming more unrealistic and impossible to achieve this 'true beauty'.

The way women view themselves is getting harsher, leading on to self esteem issues and eating disorders. It is time to realise that each woman is unique and beautiful.

Why should we strive for something impossible and unrealistic?

This series, titled 'Women', displays multiple women who are all unique and have different elements of beauty. The piece asks the question of, how can the beauty ideal exist when everyone is so different and perceives beauty differently.

'Women' was exhibited at the 31Degrees exhibition between 21-28th of may. To see more, please see https://www.uol32degrees.com/
